VIRTUAL TOURNAMENT FISHING
VTF ANGLERS CODE OF CONDUCT
The success of our organization is dependent on the INTEGRITY of our competitors
DO THE RIGHT THING EVEN WHEN NO-ONE IS WATCHING
While convenient and exciting, competing in a virtual tournament poses several challenges. The greatest of these challenges is that every competitor is trusted to do the right thing even when no-one is watching. While we do our best to enforce rules and regulations, every competitor is expected to exhibit integrity during competition. This tournament format is more enjoyable and exciting when all anglers compete ethically and fairly. By doing the right thing during competition even when no-one is watching, you are ensuring the best possible tournament experience for all competitors.
EDUCATE YOURSELF ABOUT RULES AND REGULATIONS
Our league has many technical and specific rules and regulations. It is every competitor's responsibility to educate and inform themselves about these rules and regulations by taking advantage of resources we offer such as our rules webpage, emailed information regarding rules, and the Live Stream Pre-Tournament Meeting. Abiding by all rules and regulations results in fair competition for all competitors and contributes to the excitement and fairness of our unique league format.
HOW WE ENFORCES INTEGRITY
By competing in a VTF event, all competitors are subject to a random truth-verification phone call to confirm the angler practiced integrity, honesty, and abided by the rules. We also rely on the reports and tips of competitors to discipline dishonest competitors. If you see or hear something that does not look like something that abides by the VTF Anglers Code of Conduct, please report it to the tournament director.
EXAMPLES OF INTEGRITY TESTING RANDOM TRUTH VERIFICATION QUESTIONS
"Can you verify that you submitted only fish that you caught all by yourself with rod and reel without the assistance of anyone else?"
"Can you verify that you did not engage in foul hooking, snagging, or netting (Besides a landing net) of any fish you submitted?"
"Can you verify that you abided by all of your state's fish and game rules and regulations during competition?"
VTF ENFORCES THIS CODE OF CONDUCT STRICTLY:
IF YOU DO NOT COMPETE WITH INTEGRITY AND HONESTY,
YOU HAVE NO PART IN OUR ORGANIZATION
